About WCS

What is the World Cosplay Summit?

The World Cosplay Summit, or WCS, is an international cosplay event built around the World Cosplay Championship. Official representatives selected through national and regional qualifiers meet in Nagoya, Japan, to represent their countries on the world stage.

More than a costume contest

At WCS, cosplay is treated as a complete competitive discipline. Costume craftsmanship and accuracy matter, but the championship also rewards character interpretation, acting, stage direction, choreography, props, sound and the ability of a two-person team to tell a story on stage.

A major milestone in a cosplayer’s career

For a competitive cosplayer, becoming a national representative at the World Cosplay Summit is one of the most significant achievements in a career. Winning an official qualifier means moving from a national stage to an international final, meeting leading representatives from other countries and joining the worldwide WCS alumni community.

Representing Morocco

Morocco is an official World Cosplay Summit member country. The duo that wins the Moroccan Qualifiers becomes Team Morocco and earns the responsibility of representing the Kingdom at the World Cosplay Championship in Japan. This is more than winning a local contest: the winners become the official representatives of Moroccan cosplay on the international stage.

Why WCS also matters to partners

For institutions, companies and partners, WCS brings together creativity, craftsmanship, live performance, Japanese pop culture and international representation. Supporting the Moroccan selection means helping Moroccan creators reach a global competition while contributing to the international visibility of the Kingdom’s cosplay community.
