The Competition

WORLDWIDE EVENT

The World Cosplay Summit (WCS) is one of the most prestigious events in the world of cosplay, bringing together enthusiasts from around the globe to celebrate the art of embodying characters from Japanese pop culture. Founded in 2003, this annual event takes place in Nagoya, Japan, showcasing competitions where participants deliver impressive performances that combine intricate costumes, theatrical staging, and special effects.

The WCS is more than just a cosplay exhibition—it is a true international competition where contestants must demonstrate both their skill in costume craftsmanship and their talent in stage performance.

International Qualifiers

To reach the grand final of the World Cosplay Summit, qualifiers are held in several countries around the world. These national competitions allow the best cosplayers from each country to compete against one another in demanding contests, where criteria such as costume accuracy, originality of performances, and overall stage presence are rigorously evaluated. Each participating country organizes its own qualifying tournament in partnership with conventions or organizations specializing in Japanese culture and cosplay.

Morocco in the Spotlight

Morocco is one of the countries hosting official qualifiers for the WCS, giving Moroccan cosplayers the opportunity to represent their nation on the international stage. The winner of each national competition secures a ticket to Nagoya, where they will compete against finalists from other countries in a high-level contest.

This event is the first and only one that promotes the internationalization of Moroccan cosplay on the global stage. It will offer two Moroccan cosplayers the chance to carry the Kingdom’s flag alongside participants from other nations at this major event!
